A summer day. Haystacks. The smell of hay. The smell of aromatic herbs growing randomly in the field. A pleasant breeze. These are very rare experiences in the contemporary-technological city. These feelings make us return to a kind of archaic-lived experience, mediated by primitive-built objects. An urban bed as a metaphor for a summer field.

Emil Ivãnescu + Simina Filat are a multidisciplinary team from Romania, with global projects (Europe, China, India, UAE) focusing on future innovation in architecture and design. Their work has been exhibited at the Venice Architecture Biennale (2012, 2014, 2016, 2023), Expo Dubai 2020, Milano Design Week 2020, and Dutch Design Week 2020. They hold positions at “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture, with Emil as President of the Order of Architects of Romania.
