The Boxing Dinner

The Boxing Dinner is a project by Zyva Studio (Anthony Authié) that focuses on the dynamics of the family dinner. This tradition, which touches so many lives, gathers a wide range of human behaviors into a single moment: meeting, debating, and sometimes anger and emotional outbursts. The installation reflects the familiar tension when a dinner shatters, leaving everyone in tears — presenting this moment as a kind of battle where nerves are tested, and where the table and space become receptacles for excess.
The design draws inspiration from the ancient Greek agora, the urban public space that symbolized the exchange of diverse opinions and crucial decision-making, whether political, commercial, judicial, or religious. It also connects visually to combat sports arenas, particularly MMA cages, whose concentric forms echo the great public theaters of ancient Greece.
At the heart of this dynamic, multifunctional circular arena is a table — both a dining support and a stage for verbal jousts and word battles. Rather than merely imitating the visual elements of a boxing ring, the installation plays with logos and symbols to construct a contemporary, humor-infused aesthetic universe. This approach creates an architectural expression that pays tribute not only to the historical principles of public gathering spaces, but also to the aesthetics and codes of contemporary subcultures.
The Ring Table – A Four-Round Experience
As part of Concéntrico, Gabriel Fellous and Victor Mizreh invite you to take a seat around the octagonal table designed by Anthony Authié for a unique gastronomic experience.
The menu unfolds in four rounds: a savory punch where bold flavors face off against radical design… until the technical knockout. Each round offers an intense combination that stimulates the senses and blurs the boundaries between cuisine and performance.
The meal follows a pay-what-you-want format, with all proceeds donated to a charity chosen by the “winners” of the event.
