Herejes

Traumnovelle
Soto del Ebro
2025

Herejes is a project by Traumnovelle set in the Soto del Ebro, a place marked by the dark memory of a not-so-distant past. Here, bodies —dead or alive— were gathered and set on fire by the river. Above, they built their cemetery, as if seeking to preserve superiority even in death. The unnamed were left behind, without graves, some swept away by the river’s current.

Perhaps there wasn’t enough space for all their tombs. Or perhaps they knew that every trace had to vanish. And yet, they remain. Their numbers grow. They have become everyone and everything: the fear, the desire.

Herejes marks the arrival of the time of the monsters. But these monsters do not come for revenge; they come for unconditional empathy. The project stands as an open invitation to the public: join us, you are welcome.

Traumnovelle

Traumnovelle is an architectural practice founded by Léone Drapeaud, Manuel León Fanjul, and Johnny Leya, believing architecture is a tool for world-making and community-building. Their work explores the intersection of architecture and fiction, using both to challenge boundaries and foster connection. With a multi-disciplinary approach, they create visionary spaces that inspire, provoke, and reshape how we live together. Traumnovelle champions projects that contribute to collective memory and transform how people interact with their environment.

Agenda

Invertebrates I
23 June 2025 – 7:00 PM
Soto del Ebro

The round table Invertebrates I will take place at Herejes, a venue located in the Soto del Ebro. It will feature the participation of the following cultural projects from La Rioja: Cameros Cuir, Lares, Sierra Sonora, and Los trabajos y las noches. This first gathering, organized by the collective Invertebrados, aims to foster a space for dialogue and reflection on the material possibilities for action within the artistic and cultural sphere in our local context.

What are the implications of cultural centralism? What spaces of resistance, projects, and collectives emerge in the shadow of large cities? What kinds of thought and creativity does this paradigm generate? How can we rethink culture in La Rioja beyond el Rioja?

Following the round table, there will be a poetry reading organized jointly with the Lares collective. The evening will conclude with music, dancing, and other heretical celebrations at dusk on Midsummer’s Night.
