Design With Company
Design With Company (Dw/Co) is a design adventure begun by Stewart Hicks and Allison Newmeyer. From the home base of Chicago, they collaborate — as the name implies — with allied people and institutions to design a more richly engaging environment. This takes the form of textual and visual stories, speculative urban scenarios, installations and small-scale interactive constructions. The work has been featured in exhibitions such as the Chicago Architecture Biennial and Design Miami, as well as at the V&A and Tate Modern in London. Writings can be found in the co-authored book Misguided Tactics for Propriety Calibration (Graham Foundation, 2015), as well as essays in MONU magazine, the AIA journal Manifest, Log, bracket, and the guest-edited issue of MAS Context on the topic of character in architecture.
