Gonzalo Herrero

Conversation at Pabellón, Plaza de las Escuelas Trevijano Concéntrico 02

Saturday, April 30, 13: 00h

Gonzalo Herrero Delicado (Murcia, 1986) is an architect, curator and critic of architecture and contemporary design. He is currently Deputy Curator of the Design Museum in London where he works curating the exhibition ‘Fear and Love’ that will be open at the new museum in Kensington later this year. Previously, he has been Commissioner of Public Programs of The Architecture Foundation, and Commissioner and Program Director of ARDE, in London. As an independent curator he has developed projects for international institutions such as the Mies van der Rohe Foundation, Barbican, TATE or Serpentine Galleries. Likewise, his articles have been published in various international media, including Domus, Abitare, Mark, Neo2, Blueprint or A10, where he has been a correspondent since 2007. In Concéntrico, Gonzalo will speak to us through his work as curator of architecture and design, of the debates in which these two disciplines are submerged and how the development of alternative curatorial practices can make them visible and empower political and economic strategies with a social impact. Marion Moustey is an architect, curator and president of the Association of Architects of Southern France. She organizes and coordinates the Festival des Architectures Vives in direct collaboration with Elodie Nourrigat and Jacques Brion, presidents of the association that promotes the FAV, work that will speak to us in Concentric 02. The Festival of Architectures Vives FAV offers the possibility, to young architects of all nationalities, to make themselves known through small interventions in the courtyards of historic buildings of Montpellier and in the architecture of Jean Balladur, recognized as «20th Century Heritage», in La Grande Motte. At the same time, it allows the general public to access these enclosures of high architectural interest and usually not accessible. The FAV receives each edition more than 100,000 visitors. The sponsoring companies, normally related to the architecture and construction sector, obtain visibility and promotion of their activities. Activity carried out with the support of Acción Cultural Española AC / E
