Exhibition in Maison de l’architecture de Normandie – le Forum
Concentrico’s new partnership with the Métropole de Rouen Normandie and La Forêt Monumentale, a monumental art biennial organized by the city, was inaugurated on September 22 in the French city.
The Forêt project of the Madrid architectural studio Mecanismo, founded by Pedro Rica Bayo and Marta Urtasun Martínez-Fresneda, was the winning installation of the call for entries for which more than 60 projects were submitted.
The intervention has been inaugurated this weekend and can be enjoyed until 20 October in the district of Saint Sever, being the only urban piece of the biennial La Forêt Monumental.
This proposal is completed with the exhibition that shows all the projects submitted to the international call and that can be visited at Maison de l’architecture de Normandie – le Forum until 26 November.

Open Call Rouen
Concéntrico + La Forêt Monumentale. Rouen/ France
Concéntrico and La Forêt Monumentale join together in this call to propose an urban intervention in the city of Rouen through a temporary installation that evokes the natural heritage and the forest of this French city. The installation will take place in September 2019.
La Forêt Monumentale, the biannual Festival of Monumental Art organised by the Métropole de Rouen Normandie, proposes the creation of 12 monumental artworks that will form a route in the heart of the forest that surrounds the city. Reflection on the idea of the urban domain, and the enhancement of natural heritage are brought together in this contest.
Concéntrico is the Logroño International Festival of Architecture and Design, open to all citizens and visitors, with the aim of discovering and rediscovering the areas of interest within the Historic City Centre. The festival invites visitors to explore these spaces through installations that create a connection between the interior courtyards, hidden spaces and squares that usually go unnoticed in the day-to-day.
Design competition and creation of a temporary installation in the Saint-Sever neighbourhood (Rouen)
The call is organised by Concéntrico festival and the Metropole Rouen Normandie, together with the La Rioja Cultural Foundation of Architects.
This contest proposes the creation of a temporary architectural intervention in the Saint-Sever neighbourhood. It will form part of the series of installations set up during the La Forêt Monumentale festival, being the only one that will take place within the city.
It is proposed that candidates create a temporary installation in the public space “Place Saint-Server – Rue Saint Server (end of Marcel Dupré street)” The first phase of the work was completed at the beginning of the year, in January 2019. This is a popular pedestrian multicultural space, located at the crossroads between the church square of the same name and a commercial street.
With mineral finishes, this public space has become the link between the different typologies and architectural periods from the eighteenth and nineteenth century, post-war reconstruction, and contemporary architecture.
