Edge Assemblies proposes a civic architecture of material economy, generating different spatial conditions through simple, demountable and reusable systems.

Inspired by kiosks — open structures for encounter, exchange and pause — the pavilion takes the form of a circular arrangement of interlocking plywood panels. The timber is treated with a dye derived from grape pomace, a by-product of the local wine industry, connecting the installation to the productive landscape of La Rioja.

Open and accessible from all sides, the space compresses and opens upward toward the sky, incorporating seating for rest and observation. Edge Assemblies proposes a simple architecture activated through everyday use: a light infrastructure for care and encounter, designed to be assembled, dismantled and reused without leaving a trace.

True to a practice that understands architecture as a tool for liberation and care, TAELON7 combines participatory design, low-carbon construction and adaptive reuse, testing open spatial systems that invite people to gather, pause and share public space.

TAELON7 is an architecture and research practice led by Juergen Benson-Strohmayer, working between West Africa and Europe. The studio understands architecture as a tool for liberation, capable of generating spatial systems for care, encounter and the emergence of alternative futures. Its work combines participatory design, low-carbon construction, adaptive reuse and experimental strategies that move between architecture, landscape and cultural production. TAELON7 has developed projects at multiple scales, from lightweight interventions to civic infrastructure and productive landscapes, and has presented its work internationally, including at the Venice Architecture Biennale.
