Hot, Cool, Soft proposes a set of pavilions that work as small experimental climatic zones. Built with light timber structures and wrapped in layers of natural materials —jute, coconut mesh and insulating membranes—, each one generates different conditions of light, shade, air and temperature.
The installation invites visitors to walk through a sequence of microclimates and to experience climate as a spatial, physical and shared condition. Rather than representing nature, the pavilions modulate it: visitors cross atmospheric thresholds and feel in their own bodies how humidity, breeze or temperature shift from one space to the next.
In the urban context of Logroño, the project sets out a temporary landscape where simple materials and elementary construction systems produce places to pause, meet and rest. True to a way of working attentive to social complexity and local conditions, raumlabor understands architecture as a tool to activate concrete contexts and open new possibilities for collective use, turning the Plaza de la Diversidad into an ephemeral, accessible climate refuge in the heart of the city.

raumlabor is a Berlin-based practice that champions an architecture attentive to social complexity and local conditions, moving away from grand abstract utopias to work at closer, situated scales. Its approach stems from a critical yet optimistic outlook, understanding the spatial project as a tool to activate specific contexts and open new possibilities for collective use. Over the years, the studio has received numerous international awards and distinctions, including the Golden Lion at the 2021 Venice Biennale, as well as recognitions linked to sustainable architecture, social design and intervention in public space.
